hi, I’m savannah
I’m a 28-year-old wife, mom, and dietitian living in Utah with my husband, Josh, and our daughter, Harper. I love to hike, exercise, read, cook, and hang out with my family.
my education and background
I have been a registered dietitian for almost two years and a practicing nutritionist for three years. I have a bachelor’s degree in dietetics and master’s degree in nutrition, along with several thousand hours of experience in practicing nutrition, with a focus in helping women and families achieve a healthy and holistic lifestyle.
nourished & whole
I thought long and hard when deciding on a name for Nourished & Whole. I wanted to represent my love of and expertise in nutrition, my passion for holistic living, and my strong belief in a whole food diet for whole-body health. I wanted to break societal norms about women’s health — that true health for women is found in nourishment (not restriction, discipline, or punishment). I was on a walk with my baby when “nourished and whole” came to my mind, and I couldn’t get it out. That’s how Nourished & Whole was born.
I originally created Nourished & Whole as an educational resource for helping women with holistic and hormone health through nutrition. I coached hundreds of women and saw the most amazing transformations. A foundational principle I’ve taught literally every woman I’ve ever coached is the importance of eating a whole food diet. With every client, whether our goals were related to weight loss or fertility or PCOS or menstrual health or gut health or family health or overall female health, it kept coming back to eating whole. As I taught this principle over and over, it would always boil down to this question, “Will you please just tell me what to eat?”
I have background in recipe and meal plan creation. I have created, tested, and published over 350 recipes in my time as a nutritionist. Cooking and creating recipes are some of my most driving passions. So the call to create whole food recipes for my clients was one I was eager to answer.
As I developed and shared more whole food recipes, my clients saw amazing results. I started sharing on social media and so many amazing people fell in love with my recipes. Ultimately, my clients and followers started asking for meal plans, cookbooks, grocery lists, and more! more! more! recipes!
Nourished & Whole is built on these principles:
Eating whole is the key and catalyst to holistic and whole-body health.
To help them be successful in eating whole, women and families need easy access to whole food recipes, meal plans, grocery lists, and meal prep tips.
Whole food eating can be affordable, accessible, and achievable for everyone.
Nutrition is the number one preventative healthcare. Through nutrition, we can prevent chronic illness, disease, and painful health issues.
The 80/20 lifestyle — 80% whole and healthy, 20% fun foods (for me, it’s dessert. every single day).
It should be your default to feel good every day. You can, at baseline, feel energized, happy, healthy, and comfortable in your skin, and holistic health is the key.
balance!
It’s important to me that you know that balance is one of the key drivers of Nourished & Whole. We do not go “off sugar” here. We eat carbs. We eat chips. We eat dessert (all the time). We eat french fries and cheeseburgers and birthday cake. We absolutely do not feel guilty about eating or resting.
I believe that the beauty is in the balance. Cookies and ice cream can be just a drop in the bucket if you build a really good bucket. I believe in nutrition by addition (NOT restriction). Here at Nourished & Whole, we fill our lives with an abundance of whole foods, exercise, sunlight, sleep, healthy stress coping, and when opportunities come for pizza at a party or popcorn and candy at a movie, we say YES because it’s just a drop in our very healthy bucket.
n&w substack
Here on Substack, I will be sharing recipes, meal plans, grocery lists, meal prep, holistic health tips, and more. I will share as much as I can for free, but this is also my livelihood and how I support my family, so much of what I share will be on my paid subscription (I’m keeping it *extremely affordable* for you guys). Thank you for being here, I am so excited to share with you.
